kitchen storage solutions

15 July 2025

Over our 50 years of installing kitchens, we’ve noticed there’s one thing our clients can never seem to get enough of, and that’s storage.

introduce a kitchen island

Adding an island to your kitchen is a great way to expand your storage and countertop area. An island helps you maximise a space which would otherwise be unused. They can also help improve your kitchen layout, improving your workflow. If your kitchen doesn’t have the space for an island, then a peninsula is as an excellent alternative.

drawers vs cupboards

If searching through cupboards to reach those items at the back is frustrating, what about using drawers instead? Drawers give you easy access to the very back of your units, and deep pan drawers can be used to store heavy kitchenware, such as pots, pans and dishes. Additionally, custom inserts can help keep everything organised with minimal effort.

the power of the pantry

The storage capacity offered by a well-crafted, bespoke pantry is truly impressive. With a unique combination of drawers, compartments, shelves, and spice racks, you can create a place for all your things. Why not consider turning your pantry into a luxurious breakfast station or a baking nook with the addition of handy internal plug sockets? A gorgeous oak-lined pantry cupboard is a fabulous addition to any kitchen.

don’t cut corners

Accessibility can be a problem when it comes to corner cupboards and worksurfaces, but a corner carousel will maximise space and help you find what you need efficiently. Tambour units with pull-out trays and countertop cabinets can also help you make the most of the corners of your kitchen. These units have pull-out drawers for easy access, so they’re an excellent option for storing cooking ingredients and snacks. Available in various widths, we can tailor your larder unit to fit your requirements.

free up fridge space

Regardless of whether you have a spacious American fridge-freezer or a compact integrated unit, fridge space is often limited. To give you space for other essentials, it’s worth investing in a wine chiller. Not only is it a practical solution for storing wine but it can also be used to chill other drinks – particularly useful when entertaining guests.

add stylish & practical shelves

Although wall cupboards can provide plenty of storage space, they can make your kitchen feel cramped and confined. An alternative is to install simple shelves, which adds visual appeal and also provide a practical location to store various items such as glassware, crockery or jars of ingredients.

or elegant glass-fronted cabinets

Alternatively, if you’d prefer a more classic look and want to celebrate your luxurious handcrafted cabinetry, glass-fronted wall cupboards make a lovely choice. They’re a great way to show off your glassware or favourite crockery, and can help break up a furniture-heavy scheme. Consider adding integrated lighting to enhance the effect. You’ll still need to get the right balance of open space and cabinetry to prevent your kitchen from looking cramped.

designing space that works for you

From keeping your worktops clear to ensuring you are can find everything you need quickly and efficiently, well-thought-out storage is undeniably key to creating a successful kitchen.
